These mattress pickup options are available in Los Angeles. The provider may be participating in the Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress program. When a mattress is recycled, the steel, foam, fiber and wood are used in new products like building materials, carpet padding, insulation, filters and garden mulch.

Ask your retailer to take back your old mattress when they deliver your new one.

• Any retailer delivering new mattresses is required by law to offer to pick up the customer’s old mattress, at no cost, when the new mattress is delivered. The retailer has up to 30 days to take back the old mattress. Exceptions apply, a set-up fee for the new mattress can still be charged and take back may not occur at the time of delivery. Learn more
• Retailers can choose to recycle the mattresses they’ve taken back from customers through the Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress program.

• If you are serviced by LA Sanitation (LASAN), contact LASAN Customer Care 1-800-773-2489. The Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress program recycles mattresses collected by LASAN.
