In San Diego you have mattress disposal options. The mattress industry’s Mattress Recycling Council is working behind the scenes to divert discarded mattresses from waste to recycling. When a mattress is recycled, the steel, foam, fiber and wood are used in new products like building materials, carpet padding, insulation, filters and garden mulch. There are many retailers, waste haulers, landfills and public works yards that participate in the Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress program.
