Portland Mattress Recycling
In Portland residents have several ways to dispose of an old mattress – recycle it or donate it to Community Warehouse.
Through MRC’s Bye Bye Mattress program in Oregon, you can drop off the old mattress or box springs at several participating locations in the area.
If your mattress is in gently used condition, Community Warehouse, a local furniture bank, may find a new home for your old mattress. Just drop it off and the staff will assess the mattress to see if it meets their dignity standards, if not the mattress will be recycled with Bye Bye Mattress.
Attention Mattress Shoppers
As you arrange to purchase a new mattress and have it delivered, ask your retailer if they will take back your old one. This may be provided at little to no charge depending on the retailer’s policies. View the list of retailers choosing to recycle with our program here.
